Team Novo Nordisk, the world’s first all-diabetes professional cycling team, and Maxxis announced a partnership naming Maxxis as the official tire for Team Novo Nordisk.
“Maxxis is very proud to sponsor Team Novo Nordisk, and we support their mission to empower people living with diabetes to lead healthy, active lives. The team offers living proof of what’s possible when diagnosed with diabetes and they change minds and change lives,” Maxxis Tires’s Duncan McGuire said. “We’re thrilled to root for our hometown team as they compete in major races both here in North America and around the world. Additionally, we look forward to Team Novo Nordisk’s feedback on the performance of Maxxis’ road tires so we can continue to improve our products.”

“For decades, Maxxis has produced the best tires in cycling. Their first US location was based in suburban Atlanta and we are proudly an Atlanta-based team, so this partnership feels natural,” Team Novo Nordisk Senior Vice President of Athletics Vassili Davidenko said. “In professional cycling, riders tackle all kinds of terrain and Maxxis offers unparalleled tires so our athletes can take on any condition with confidence while they race to inspire, educate and empower everyone affected by diabetes.”
Maxxis was founded in 1967 as a manufacturer of bicycle tires. In the years since, Maxxis has expanded its offerings to include tires for auto, light truck, motorcycle, ATV, lawn and garden, and trailer. Today, they offer an array of road tires for racing, training, and your daily commute, along with tires for every cycling discipline.
Team Novo Nordisk is a global all-diabetes sports team of cyclists spearheaded by the world’s first all-diabetes UCI Professional Continental cycling team. In 2012, Phil Southerland, co-founder and CEO of the team, and global healthcare company Novo Nordisk, came together to create Team Novo Nordisk, based on a shared vision to inspire, educate and empower people around the world affected by diabetes.
