Team Novo Nordisk announce three devo to pro for 2025

ATLANTA, Ga., November 7, 2024 – Progress can often pack a punch and Team Novo Nordisk will be looking for some haymakers from the latest crop of young riders to make the step up from Development team to the senior professional ranks.

Frenchmen Anton Muller and Celestin Wattelle join Italian Jacopo Colladon in transitioning from the UCI Continental team to the ProTour and continue the long standing TNN tradition of developing talent and promoting from within.

“We are a unique team with a unique talent pool and it’s vitally important for us to utilize our development pipeline,” said General Manager Vassili Davidenko. “Once again through great work by our staff and young riders, we have three talented riders making the transition from the Development squad to the senior pro team for next season.”

“Anton, Celestin and Jacopo all have different characteristics as athletes and will each bring something different to the team next year. After their time spent racing with the devo team and and gaining experience at some big races in Europe and Asia, we are confident that all three have a good foundation to build upon and we’re looking forward to seeing all our new guys continue to progress next season.”

Frenchman Anton Muller is the eldest of the trio at 26 and diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes only three years ago. After a string of solid performances throughout this season with the Devo team Muller earned his place racing as a stagiaire with the pro team at both the Tour of Taihu Lake and Japan Cup in October.

“To join the pro team is of course a dream come true,” began Muller. “That was the main goal for me after joining the devo team at the end of last year. To be able to live my passion was unthinkable two years ago, but after meeting former TNN rider Sacha Bietry during an amateur race he showed me that I didn’t have to give up on my dream because of diabetes.”

“Now I am really proud and excited to be stepping up to race at the highest level of cycling and getting ready to take part in races I used to watch on TV. My goals are to learn and improve as much as possible in terms of performance and glucose management.”

Muller’s 21-year-old compatriot Celestin Wattelle has shown his sprinting potential throughout the last three seasons racing with the Development team, achieving breakthrough results across 2024 including a podium at Cup Doltcini and fourth place on stage 3 at the Tour of Bulgaria.

“It feels like an accomplishment to be turning professional, but also like continuity after my time with the Development Team,” said Wattelle. “The pro team inspires me and makes me dream of living the life of a pro cyclist, and now I will be racing and learning with them, and I hope I too will inspire people living with Type 1 diabetes. I’m thankful to be part of a special team that believes in us and gives us the opportunity to continue to grow as athletes and people.”

The final addition for 2025 is young Italian Jacopo Colladon, the 21-year-old Roman has also been part of the TNN Development team for three years and has progressed solidly in that time. Demonstrating consistency in weeklong stage races and climbing skills honed in the Alban Hills outside of Rome where he grew up.

“Joining the TNN professional team brings with it great emotion for me,” concluded Colladon. “This is an achievement of a dream and another step down the road of fulfilling more dreams. I feel honored to be part of this project that in addition to the sporting goal is the bearer of a great message, to show all who live with diabetes what is possible with hard work.”

“My goals are to always do better and try to achieve great results by working with the whole team. I am sure that by joining our forces we will achieve excellent results. I can't wait to start the new season in 2025.”
